Delhivery Tops ₹3,000 Crore Quarterly Revenue

WHAT HAPPENED

Delhivery reported revenue from services of ₹3,066 crore for the July to September quarter (Q2 FY27) on 30 October, up 20% year on year and its first quarter above ₹3,000 crore. EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) nearly tripled to ₹205 crore, and net profit was about ₹41 crore against a loss of about ₹50 crore a year earlier. Express parcel shipments rose 32% to 325 million, and part truckload (PTL, freight that shares a truck with other customers’ loads) volume rose 14% to 545,000 tonnes. Its unit Delhivery Robotics has started producing custom autonomous vehicles for movement inside facilities and is testing robotics in warehouse operations.

WHY IT MATTERS

Delhivery runs one of India’s largest networks of sortation hubs and warehouses, so its margins are a useful read on outsourced logistics. The company blamed fuel prices, labour availability and statutory changes for cost pressure, and it is answering with automation rather than more headcount. On the same day it launched a Demo Day with Peak XV Partners, backed by Amazon Web Services, to find startups in AI, robotics and automation.

EXPERT VIEW

I read this quarter as evidence that scale plus automation now beats cheap labour in Indian parcel logistics. Large networks gain, while small regional carriers without capital for robots lose ground as wages and compliance costs rise. Coverage misses that a 6.7% EBITDA margin is still thin, so one bad quarter of fuel prices could erase much of the gain. In past years the festive quarter (October to December) has lifted parcel volumes further, so Q3 is the real test of whether the margin holds. I predict, with medium confidence, that Delhivery reports an EBITDA margin above 6.7% for Q3 FY27 and announces a wider rollout of its autonomous vehicles within 12 months.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

1. If you buy services from Delhivery, ask your account manager how robotics will change cut off times and service levels at your hubs.
2. If you run a 3PL (third party logistics) business, compare your labour cost per shipment with last year and list the tasks you could automate.
3. If you build warehouse technology, read the Demo Day entry details in Delhivery’s press release this week.
